So I made my journal Friends Only. I would have liked to leave it open, but unfortunately people can be a bit stalker-ish, so I decided to stay on the safe side. If you've come over here from hogwarts_elite or anywhere else that I frequent, though, I will most likely add you back if I know who you are.

A few notes that aren't so much a friending policy as a preview of what you might be getting into if you friend me:

1. My journal = my little corner of the Internet. Different people use their LJs for different things. Mine is very much a journal about my own life. If I think of something I want to write about, I write it and post it here. I have a tendency to pretend that no one is watching when I write. Of course, anything that really should be private does get posted privately, but I usually write to myself rather than to other people. This doesn't mean that I don't comment or that my entries are completely boring... well, I sure hope they aren't boring. I just write whatever is on my mind. Hopefully, it's interesting.

2. This journal is a drama-free zone. Maybe this doesn't seem to mesh with Rule One, but trust me, it does. :) Basically, I just don't deal with drama or wank. I try to repel it from my own life, and usually I succeed, with the exception of Term 7 at hogwarts_elite. So naturally, I don't want it in my journal. Of course, there's a line between mature, intelligent debate and calling each other twatmuffins in the comments to some entry or other. It's the latter that I'm not interested in.

3. If you're here for my icons, this is not the place to be. I post my icons at skylighting. This serves as my center for real-life rambling. :)

The holiday season's on its way. I should probably have gotten some inkling of this when my roommate busted out the Christmas music for the first time a few weeks ago, but...yeah. :) [I will not be a Grinch. I will not be a Grinch. I will not--AHHH THOSE SONGS ARE SO SCHMALTZY SOMEONE SAVE ME.]

Since this is a public post for the hogwarts_elite wishlist, I'm going to be online-only for this. I still have a neurosis about my address. For that matter, I have a bit of a neurosis about asking for things...but I want to get into the spirit of things this year. I really do.

So. Ten things...

1) A new layout. LJ is prodding me about switching over to S2 when I go to the layout page, and I'm not sure where to find good coding that works with my header. The header is Pushing Daisies-themed: here. I'd prefer something that's customizable enough so that I can plug in a new one and alter the colors when I want something different. :)

2) On that note, I also love icons. To get an idea of my style, take a look at skylighting or current userpics.

3) Additional paid time/gifts would be shiny. You can never have too much, I suppose. (;

4) Music! I love music. I think I've listened to just about anything except country and metal. Jazz usually doesn't do it for me unless it's really lively. I like nearly anything with good lyrics. Instrumental-wise is shiny too!

5) Ravenclaw-ish things.

6) Wallpapers - I use a widescreen 1280x800 resolution, and my own graphics expertise usually doesn't cut it for anything that big.

7) Books are amazing and wonderful things. Check out my GoodReads page for some idea of what I've read in the past and like. (I think I look like kind of a sock puppet on there? Oh well.) So I'd love any recommendations!

8) Since I'm going online only, online cards would be much appreciated. :)

9) A little love in general. :)

10) Compliment someone else. Make his or her day. :)

Happy Halloween, everyone! I'm opening myself up to a round of LJ trick-or-treating. We're doing it as part of an activity in hogwarts_elite, and it seems like such a cute thing to do for the holiday. :)
